Legal Rights in Recovery
You have rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Fair Housing Act:
- You cannot be fired solely for being in recovery (past drug use).
- You cannot be denied housing because of a past addiction.
- Medical records regarding substance use treatment are strictly confidential (42 CFR Part 2).
